Contact Laura Bibighaus at bibighaus@acm.org if you are able to help with Awana this year. Training is August 29 during the 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. services.

AWANA is a Christian kids' club for boys and girls, starting at age 4 through the 12th grade. Childcare is provided for younger children of adults helping with the program.

The main focus of AWANA is to teach God's Word, to encourage memorization of Scripture, and to teach kids how to defend their faith. AWANA will emphasize many things including:

  • introducing kids to Jesus their Savior,
  • teaching kids how to know Him better,
  • memorizing God's word,
  • equipping kids to witness to others,
  • building a Godly character, and
  • being a place where kids can develop strong Christian friendships.

      • Handbook Time: Kids recite verses they have leaned the previous week. This time may also be an informal instructional time, or a time for the leader to get to know the kids.
      • Council Time: This time includes singing, announcements, teaching, and the presentation of any awards the kids may have earned through the previous week(s).
      • Game Time: This is a 30 minute segment for fun group competition and games. This time also teaches kids all the games that are played at the AWANA Olympics.
